![]() Definitely one of the gems of the PS2 and so late in its lifespan. The game truly looks stunning and blows away games with much better graphics because of the art direction and originality of form. The gameplay is very familiar to the 3D Zelda games, with the player acquiring different abilities as he/she goes through different areas battling demons and creatures some of which are more challenging bosses. Eventually you defeat Orochi only to find out that there is a greater threat in the world and that you need to clear all of Japan from this evil. You have a little bug side kick called Issun who can cast spells my using the power of painting. With each beast you defeat, the worlds life force is restored just a bit, with colors and eventually people appearing. The story is you are a goddess in a wolf's body and are trying to defeat the evil dragon Orochi who comes every hundred years to collect a maiden sacrifice from the village of Kamiki and lands darkness upon the land. It definitely takes a bit of practice but after some time you'll be power-slashing away at enemies quickly and easily, especially since using the Wii remote's much faster than drawing onscreen with. Great Japanese brush painting-style graphics, great characters, absolutely awesome soundtrack, innovative gameplay and ur first time. new game for either system or Okamiden HD for the Wii U. Okami, however, is an extremely well made and unique game. The most appealing thing about this game is that it looks nothing like any other game ever made, it looks like watermark in motion where you use the joystick as a paintbrush to cast spells by drawing them on screen.
